Chatham vs Canton

Chatham’s amazing run came to an end Saturday afternoon at SUNY Potsdam with a 64-59 loss to Canton. It’s a heartbreaking moment for the team and their families. But eventually that pain fades and they’ll look back on what they accomplished with pride. Which is the greatest season of basketball in the school’s history. Chatham won the Section II Championship for the first time ever. And then knocked off the undefeated #1 ranked class C team. And a few days later they knocked off another #1 ranked team to reach the NYS Regional Final. And despite not having their best stuff, they were in that game right to the end, missing entry to the Final Four by a whisker. On a personal level, I’m going to miss watching this team’s seniors play. I’ve watched them grow up alongside my son and it’s tough to see it come to an end. But I’m sure they’re going to go on to great things. I can’t wait to hear all about it.
