Chatham vs Adirondack
June 10, 2022
Chatham and Adirondack met up at Binghamton University’s beautiful new field to decide who goes to the NYS Championship Game. It was a nail biter for the first three innings as both teams threatened but were unable to score. Adirondack’s outfield was impenetrable to hits and Chatham’s pitcher Tyler Kneller proved remarkably slippery, working out of jam after jam. Chatham finally broke through in the fourth in classic style as Matt Thorsen singled, stole second on an errant throw and then took third the same way, coming in to score on a sacrifice. The game continued along the same path until the top of the seventh when Chatham’s Tate VanAlstyne cleared the bases with a grand slam to open up a commanding 5-0 score. Kneller slammed the door on Adirondack in the bottom of the inning to take the win.
