Chatham vs. Hudson

Game three of the season saw Chatham back on the road and under the lights. And by the way, Hudson’s field has a spectacular view of the Catskill mountains, which we got with a sunset. Beautiful.

This was a big game for a couple reasons. One, my son got his first start in goal for the varsity team. And second, my new camera finally arrived. After three months of waiting, my new Canon R5 arrived just a few hours before the game. I barely had time to get used to it before throwing it right into action.

And it lived up to the hype. After years of ignoring the Sony’s slow as molasses autofocus in favor of manually focusing, I suddenly had a system that could literally find and track the eyes of a target on the run. Wow.

On the soccer front, Chatham turned its first real team effort and it showed in the score. Yes, they lost again but this time it was close. They showed discipline and teamwork and it was a pleasure to watch.
