Burden Falls

I try at least once a week to explore a park or nature preserve. Sometimes they’re recommended to me but I really love it when I discover one by accident. And that’s what we have this week. Parental duties have caused me to drive by this spot for weeks on end. Apart from a big sign at one end facing the road and welcoming you to Troy and Burden Falls, there’s nothing to call attention to it. In fact, that sign sits directly in front of one of two waterfalls, a man made one that doesn’t particularly call out to a photographer. The other one requires a bit of a hike to find and is a lot more rewarding. I only realized it was there by digging around in Google Maps. It’s always great find beautiful hunks of nature hiding in and around a city environment.
