Watervliet vs Chatham
Written By John Shea
It’s been a little bit of a break from shooting sports but it was finally time to tackle the indoor variety. And damn did I pick a hell of a game to start with. Chatham and Watervliet were neck and neck through most of the game until Chatham went on a roll and opened up a nine point lead. The crowd was raucous as the student sections took up their own battle of chants. Suddenly the lead evaporated and Watervliet pulled ahead. Chatham regained control and clung to a tiny lead but coughed it up with six seconds left in regulation, leading to overtime. The margin for error in overtime was tiny as they stayed tight throughout. Finally though, Chatham put it away with a pair of free throws with eight seconds left on the clock.
