Invitation to a March

I don’t get to do this nearly as often as I shoot sporting events but I absolutely love shooting theater. Weirdly, a lot of elements are the same. It’s a live event, so somewhat unpredictable. The lighting can be odd. And in both I’m looking for split second moments that tell a story.

In this case, the photos are from the Ghent Playhouse, which is currently staging the play “Invitation to a March,” a quirky family drama set in 1961. As always, the Ghent Playhouse gives a show that is way better than you might expect from a community theater (unless of course you go there regularly). It’s running the next two weekends. Tickets are available here.
